The Clean Truck Check, officially known as the Heavy-Duty Inspection and Maintenance (HD I/M) Regulation, is a program established by the California Air Resources Board (CARB) to ensure that heavy-duty vehicles maintain properly functioning emissions control systems throughout their operational life. This regulation applies to nearly all diesel and alternative fuel heavy-duty vehicles operating on California's public roads and highways, regardless of their registration state.
